This painting by artist Nerida de Jong has been donated to raise money for Camphill Skopelos. It has been sold and the money is entirely for this wonderful cause.
Artist Nerida de Jong lives on Skopelos. She draws inspiration from her early days in Australia, the Cook Islands and Fiji and then later St Cirq Lapopie in France and now from Skopelos. The painting above was inspired by her seeing two girls being dressed in traditional costume in Platanos square. “Being very new to Skopelos I had no idea that they were preparing to make a film for SIFFY, so I made up my own story. Perhaps some artistic license was taken with the setting. It was in 2014.” Nerida works with acrylic on canvas or watercolour on handmade paper.
